The Lionistic Year commences on 1st July and the main office-bearers for the coming year will be Stuart Asquith as President, Nick Stroude as Secretary and Corina Sherman as Treasurer.

The Club supported the Scout’s St George’s Day Parade in Northleach with Lion President Ray and Lions Stuart Asquith and Michael Chappin in attendance.

The carparking supervision in Bourton successfully raised money for our charities and the monthly car boot sales in Bourton continue to be well supported. The Club attended the Northleach Charter Fair at the end of June and had a tombola and a “Message in a Bottle” stand to promote this valuable social service.

The retiring President’s selected Charity for his year of office was Cancer Research UK’s “Walk the Walk” . A donation was approved.

The Club’s Annual Charter Anniversary Dinner at the Swan Hotel in Bibury in May was very successful. The principle speakers were the Lion District Governor Colin Duncan and a former Club President Tony Dale.

The Cirencester branch of the Club now meets at The Fleece Hotel in town on the third Thursday of each month. All interested people are welcome. For more details contact cirencester.lions@googlemail.com
