Meeting at The Red Lion,
|
An Alternative History Once upon a time, a Lion moved residence to Northleach. Being a good Lion he gave attention to his local hostelry, the name of which was the Wheatsheaf. The landlord of the hostelry whose name was Tony upon seeing the pin on the good Lion's jacket without hesitation held out the hand of friendship, and enquired the name of the good Lion's club, which was Marlborough, and further ventured that there was a sufficiency of chimneys in Northleach. to allow men of distinction to create a club.
And so, in 1989, it came to pass, and so it came to be. Many men of distinction and rank were called upon and became founder members. The good Lion from another area became the founding President for the next year and a half and the work the club did was good, and many peoples had benefit all over the face of the earth. And the time was good.
