Lion Stuart Asquith
was presented with a
gift from the Club
as a thank you for
his many years as
secretary.
Donations were
approved to
Northleach Explorer
Scouts for a
first-aid kit, Kids
For Kids (a charity
to help the peoples
of Darfur), Kate’s
Home Nursing and
Help for Heroes.
Our attendance at
the Northleach
Charter Fair was
very successful.
Over 150 balloons
were released and
prizes have been
given to the
ticket-holders and
retrievers of the
four balloons which
went the farthest.
In order to achieve
the Club’s aim of
raising more funds
for charitable
purposes it was
agreed to try to
increase the
membership by
raising the public
awareness of the
Lions.
At a social meeting
of the new
Cirencester Branch
of the Lions Club,
the first members
were badged-up. The
Branch is now
established and have
plans for
fund-raising. More
members are welcome
and should contact
Wendy West, the
co-ordinator, at
wendywest@bigfoot.com
for information.
Socially, a very
enjoyable car
treasure hunt was
held in July. In
August a BBQ is
being held and in
September there will
be a visit to
Chavenage House
The Club meets on
the second Tuesday
of each month for
its business

starting at 8pm. All
interested are
