July 2008 News
The July meeting welcomes in a new Lions’ year and was chaired by the new President Lion Ray Savill. The secretary and treasurer, Lion Stuart Asquith and Lion Corina Sherman remain unchanged. A lion guest from New Zealand was welcomed to the meeting.
The Club’s stall at the Northleach Charter Fair had been very successful as was the support given by the Club to the Art Showcase of the Cotswold School Year 13 at the Westwood Centre.
The Club will be manning the car-parking at Bourton on Saturday 30th August
Another skittles evening at Guiting Power had been enjoyed by members and partners and a meal was arranged at the Red Lion at the end of July.
The Lions International project Campaign Sightfirst 11 aimed to reach $ 200 million and this was achieved by the target date of July 2008. Many millions have been saved from blindness and many millions more have been treated for potentially blinding conditions. The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month for its business meeting. The venue is the Red Lion Inn in Northleach starting at 8pm. All interested are welcome to attend. The next meeting is on August 12th. |
