Ron Weldon was elected an Honorary Member in recognition of his years of service to the Club and Lionism. Lion Corina reported she had met with the Northleach Youth Club Committee and it was hoped that a joint project could be arranged for mutual benefit.
Money pledged to the County Air Ambulance Service was handed over at a presentation on the 17th March. The collection at Tesco in Stow on 15th March raised £350 in aid of the North Cotswold Disabled Group. On Easter Saturday there will be a collection at the Co-op in Bourton and the Club will be manning the school car park at Bourton on the 15th April.
The social event for April is to be a car treasure hunt followed by a light meal Donations were approved to the Cotswold Hall renovation fund, the Bob Cook Memorial Games for the Disabled, the James Hopkins Trust, the Lions Street Children Project particularly in Nigeria and the Northleach Primary School to help disadvantaged children to go on residential trips.
The collection of used spectacles is continuing and to date five large containers have been sent to the warehouse for sorting and distribution to the Third World.
The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month for its business meeting. The venue is the Red Lion Inn in Northleach starting at 8pm. All interested are welcome to attend.
