September 2006 News

The Vicar of Northleach, the Rev. Dick Woodger, attended the September business meeting as part of the Clubs’ aims to become better known in the community and so be able to contribute more to the community.

The main fundraising event in October is a jumble sale in the Cotswold Hall on Saturday 28th  and in November  we shall be attending the Northleach Annual Charities Sale. Arrangements are in hand to attend the Victorian evening in Bourton on 1st December.

Plans are being drawn up for the 2007 events to include Bourton’s Victoria Hall and the car-parking supervising.

Donations were approved to LIBRA (Lions International Blood Research Association), the Cheltenham Hospital Cobalt Unit Appeal  and Citizens Advice Bureau in Cirencester .

Twenty-six countries were represented at the Lions Youth Exchange camp held in Hereford.

The motto is “let all countries, cultures and youths come together in one place under the banner of Lionism” This annual event was once again a great success.

The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month for its business meeting. The venue is the Wheatsheaf Inn at Northleach starting at 8pm.  All interested are welcome to attend. The next meeting is on October10th.
