Meeting at The
Wheatsheaf Inn,
|
October 2006 News The October meeting commenced with the presentation of a donation to a representative of the Anthony Nolan Trust of funds raised by the Club, being the charity nominated by the Presidents’ wife.
The Club has permission for a street collection in Northleach on Saturday 16th December in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Research. It was agreed to help sponsor a local young person going on a world challenge expedition and also make a donation to Calibre Talking Books. The Club President will lay a wreath at the Remembrance Day parade in Northleach
The main aim this year is for the Club to increase its membership so that it can do more to help the local community and raise more funds for charitable purposes. Lions is a voluntary, non-denominational and non-political organisation. As well as good fellowship, members get the opportunity to help others less fortunate, which may not be possible to achieve as an individual.
The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month for its business meeting. The temporary venue is the Cotswold Hall in Northleach starting at 8pm. All interested are welcome to attend. The next meeting is on November 14th. For further information telephone 0845 8339825 (local rates apply)
