December 2006 News
December was very busy for the members starting with the Victorian Evening in Bourton on the 1st of the month. Despite the weather the people were very generous and £267 was raised for our Charities. Our thanks to the public who had to negotiate rain and puddles to reach our stand.
On the 16th there was a street collection in Northleach in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Research and again the public were extremely generous. Collections outside Tesco at Stow and Cirencester as well as the Co-op in Bourton have all helped to boost our Charities Funds. A total of £1737 was raised during these activities.
Donations were approved to the Upper Rissington Sunny Playgroup and the North Cotswold Disabled Group.
The Lions District raised a lot of money last year from the collection of used stamps. Members were encouraged to gather stamps over the Christmas period and ask family and friends to do the same. They will be sent to District in late January.
The Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month for its business meeting. The temporary venue is the Cotswold Hall in Northleach starting at 8pm. All interested are welcome to attend. The next meeting is on 9th January. |
